Bush: Iran, Iraq, and North Korea "axis of evil"

Iran, Iraq and North Korea, singled out by President Bush as members of an “axis of evil,” responded angrily Wednesday to the latest verbal riposte in the State of the Union address. Meantime, longtime U.S. ally, The Philippines, expressed annoyance over Bush’s suggestion that Washington could take matters into its own hands if nations fail to root out terrorist networks.

In Tehran, Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi challenged the United States to prove charges it has been making for years.“We reject the U.S. accusations and we think that the world will not tolerate the hegemony of the U.S. The U.S. president should offer proof to support his allegations; repeating the usual accusations will not help him,” Kharrazi said, according to state-run Tehran radio.Full Story...
