Australian Prime Minister John Howard said on Sunday comments by U.S. President George W. Bush singling out an "axis of evil" nations were entirely appropriate, adding that Australia remained Washington's closest ally.

"I think President Bush's speech was a first-class one, and I understood full well the language he used and why he did it," Howard said in a nationally televised interview with Channel Nine's Sunday program. Full Story...
