A strike called by Maoist rebels has shut down this Himalayan kingdom, as businesses closed and vehicles stayed off the road for a second day. There was no violence reported on Saturday, but most shops were shuttered and public transport was scant, stranding thousands of passengers in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital.
