India has said that it will adhere to the 'one China' policy concerning Taiwan, an ultra-sensitive issue for China. “We recognise 'one China'. There is no confusion on this matter," External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh told reporters here on Sunday, allaying Beijing's apprehension on this matter, especially on the eve of Taiwan starting direct passenger flights to India. "It is only a commercial arrangement," he said when asked to comment on Taiwan's decision to commence direct flights between Taipei and New Delhi from Monday. Earlier, commenting on Taiwan's decision to start direct flights to India, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said Beijing hoped New Delhi would "properly handle" the issue.
